the Each Week, One Beast project: week 18

So, I think we all know what's happened here. She was sleeping under the kitchen table, snout resting on mangled old squeaky toy. The fresh scent of newly-spread manure wafted in on the spring breeze. Her nostrils quivered... one eyebrow perked... and she popped up, nudged the screen door ajar, scampered down the hill and into the field, rolled in the poop, had a dip in the cow pond, and now here she is in the kitchen again, having just had a good shake. She used to be a white dog, but now she's sort of... off-colorish.

But I think she needs a name, and I can't seem to come up with one. Help! What do you think?

I love your descriptions of your beasts almost as much as I love the illustrations themselves. :)

This is so great- we've moved from the city in America to the country in Ireland and I cannot get our dachshund to stop rolling in patties! She loves it. Sigh. A name hasn't come to me yet, though we have met a scruffy little dog who looks much like the one you've drawn here, he's very serious, and his name is Ted. This makes us laugh because there is a funny Irish TV series whose main character is a priest-- Father Ted.

How adorable, and very typically...dog. It is funny how they find the nastiest possible things to roll in, and then look up at you like "really, you should try it!" Thank so much for the card too, just received it the other day...a lovely surprise, and I'm so happy Tufty came to live here. He's settling in very well ;)
