When I stand on the back porch having my coffee and admiring my Callicarpa dichotoma 'Early Amethyst' each morning, all I can think of is the line in the X-Ray Spex song that goes
freddy tried to strangle me
with my plastic popper beads
but I hit him back
with my pet rat

Have you ever done anything edible with them? I'm dying to try, but I don't have a crop. :(
I have not, Ellen, but I'll look into it. Is there any particular preparation that you have heard is good?

I had forgotten all about plastic popper beads! (And I'd never come across Callicarpa. Now the association is permanent!)
