Can September be for Sleeping?

Shin Kuroda carrots, tomatoes: glacier, black krim, Paul Robeson, basil, kolibri kohlrabi, pineapple (tiny) and verde puebla (large) tomatillos |

Acidanthera (Gladiolus callianthus 'Muriaelae') |
Acidanthera is my favorite. I plant the corms in spring when the soil has warmed, down deep where their swords will have to furrow around rocks and through soil to reach the light. Their leaves are papery and crimped, and their flower stalks are sturdy, with a row of bird-beak buds on the ends. The scent is sharp vanilla and sweet animal... Amazing! I lift them in the fall, as they won't survive my zone 5 winters.

I hope September is for picking too! Our summer has been so cold, I'm hoping if things warm up, that we'll push our harvest into the later months to make up for it! I'm envious of your tomatoes, most of ours are still very green :( Your tomatillos look fabulous!
I have to admit that, being from Pennsylvania, I thought everything was always better in California :) I will try to send you 10 of our degrees fahrenheit, because we have too many and you don't have enough, so that your tomatoes will ripen!
